Be Real

Take a good look at me
Honestly,
Tell me what you see
Ever so clearly...
Do you see what I see in the mirror
Brown Skin, Brown Eyes,
Natural Black Hair, Pretty Smile
The model for the Coke bottle
Yet, unlike God, they didn't get it quite right
But I ask you again,
Take a good look at me
Not at what I see in the mirror
Look into my soul with yours
Now, tell me what you see
Be a true friend
Tell me lucidly
I may be lying to myself
At times I need help
When you see me going astray
And you know I've lost my way
Be a true friend and say
Can I help? Ask God to lead the way.
I can't make it my own
You were placed in my life for a reason
Till death, some years or a season
As I would if you were me
All I ask for you to be
To others and to me
is True - Be Real.

To make it in life, we need each other, or else God would have created a planet for each separate being he created. Sometimes we get too caught up on how we look to others and keeping up appearances, whilst honestly it's the inside that counts. Not that you shouldn't look sharp, but if you look one way, whilst your insides look a hot mess - neither MAC and Sephora nor Forever 21 and H&M can save you.
Yes, sometimes the truth is hard to tell, too painful and we don't want to face the music but remember 'The Truth Shall Set You Free! Be REAL!'
1st John 3: 17&18 - But whosoever has this world's goods and sees his brother in need and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
